Abstract

This study aimed to conduct a preliminary diagnosis of the health and sanitation situation in slum Xingu community, located in the city of Foz do Iguaçu, state of Paraná. The research nature was descriptive and qualitative, developed from on-site observations and interviews with community residents. For each household was interviewed an adult, totaling 24 respondents. The questions aimed at obtaining information on the age of the residents, health problems that caused hospitalization of family, history of respiratory problems, skin diseases, dengue cases in the community and caudate problems for vectors. The results showed problems of solid waste, sanitation and other environmental situations and education that impact both the environment as the health of residents.
