Why we need environmental research

Abstract

This text originated from reflection on the transcription of the opening lecture of the I Congress of Environmental Research, the CPeA (in Portuguese), organized by the Transdisciplinary Research Group on Education, Science, Culture and Environment, the NuTECCA (in Portuguese), together with the Coordination for Research & Innovation of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of São Paulo, campus Itapetininga, held on 22 and 23 April 2015. The purpose of this speech was to explain the need and the importance of Environmental Research, collectively.
