The school council under the watchful eye of democratic management

Abstract

The school council is an instrument of democratic school management; the participation of the school community favors the formation of a participative education, oriented to diversity, differentiating itself from the authoritarian proposal of non-popular participation in the decisions of the public services offered. The article emphasizes the importance of the school council in a democratic perspective, as well as explicit means of more concretizing this instrument of participation of the school community in the decisions of the school. It is concluded that there is influence of the excessive bureaucracy, centralization, contamination by conciliation relations and patronage of the instrument.
