Architecture and perception

Abstract

The perception and environmental cognition enable the identification of needs, expectations, values, meanings and behaviors of users in relation to the built environment. This paper discusses the characteristics of users who influence the perception and the perception of architecture itself through the senses of sight, touch, hearing, smell, touch and heat. Knowing the needs and user expectations about the built environment, leads us to analyze environments, propose solutions to improve the quality of these spaces and elaborate architectural designs that satisfy its users, in order to be fully experienced through all the senses.
