Abstract

For a long time women were prevented from carrying out scientific activities, however, many resisted this strains and dedicated themselves to research that has contributed to scientific development. This work was the result of a bibliographic research and aimed to raise data on the historical context that allowed the concealment of women's contributions in the Sciences and to disseminate current actions that encourage female participation in this area. We are able to observe that in recent years there has been an appreciation of these scientists through the publication of books, articles and films that highlight their stories and scientific contributions, as well as the elaboration of projects that encourage female participation in the Sciences.
