This paper aims to elucidate how pre-service Mathematic teachers, at São Paulo Federal University, comprehend the zero number, throughout different contexts in Mathematics. It was developed by an undergraduate student with the Observatory of Education Program (OBEDUC), which used a pool with questions based on different mathematical contexts. Results showed that first year students lack the concepts, therefore, these are approached in a procedural way, entirely used to operate various calculations.
