Abstract

Nowadays, the number of information we are receiving is growing. The internet allows a universe of new information from different places and a multitude of subjects. In this scenario, it is not enough to have access to a large number of information, it is necessary to construct contextualizations between them. For a professional in the educational area who has knowledge of her work element (either ensuring or sharing), it is necessary to distinguish that information differs from knowledge. The objective of the research is to promote a philosophical discussion about knowledge in relation to information. For this, the article presents the discussions and differentiations between information and knowledge analyzed from the Theory of Complexity. The methodology used delineates a history of human knowledge and shows how cognitive ties are established through the reconnection of knowledge, transforming information into knowledge and contributing to a thought of the whole and a planetary education.
